At Mercy Regional, we take great pride in ensuring that all our ambulances are equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology and staffed by highly skilled BLS and ALS personnel. With the largest fleet of dedicated transfer ambulances in Northeast Oklahoma, we are fully equipped to handle transportation for patients with varying levels of medical complexities. We understand that certain transports require a higher level of paramedic service, especially for critically ill or injured patients being transferred between facilities. To meet these needs, our paramedics undergo additional classroom and hospital-based clinical education, enabling them to effectively monitor and treat these critical patients during transport.
Our paramedics are capable of safely transporting patients who depend on ventilators, as well as those with multiple or extensive IV lines requiring IV medication administration through multiple chamber pumps. This level of specialized care eliminates the need for hospitals to send their own equipment or extra personnel, unless they choose to do so.
Paramedic level transports are commonly utilized in a variety of situations, including but not limited to:
- ICU to ICU transfers for a critical patient or a patient with extensive medication drips, ventilator support, chest tube management, and or invasive monitoring.
- ER to ER transfers to an immediate higher level of care facility for the acutely injured or critically ill patient.
- Specialty Hospital to Hospital ICU
- Hospital to Specialty Hospital transport for long term acute care of critical patient
Mercy Regional offers a diverse range of non-emergent transportation options for patients coming from different medical facilities and with various medical conditions. You can choose to schedule these transfers ahead of time or request them in urgent situations. Our units are equipped and staffed to provide basic life support, advanced life support, or paramedic life support, depending on the specific needs of the call or your personal request. Our dedicated EMTs who handle basic life support transports are extensively trained in vital skills such as basic airway management, bleeding control, oxygen administration, CPR, orthopedic care, and so much more. Non-emergent transports are commonly utilized for the following purposes:
